Scheme implemented in Purulia District
01. Social Fishery:
Social Fishery scheme was introduced in 1987-88 to encourage pisciculture in the water bodies owned by different govt. department or institution.
02. Tribal Sub Plan:
For the socio economic upliftment of tribal people, Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) was formulated. The following schemes viz, economic upliftment of tribal people through operation of integrated pisciculture development, socio-economic upliftment of tribal people through operation of pisciculture development scheme in tribal areas by providing dwelling house to the tribal people etc. are in operation.
03. Fishermen Identity Card:
For proper identification steps have been taken for issue of identity card to fisher person.
04. Old age pension to fishermen:
The scheme started in the year 1991-92 to extend assistance to help less old aged fishermen. 170 fishermen of the district were covered by providing pension @ Rs. 500/- per month /person in every year.

09. Short term credit plan
i) Production of table fish (unit area 0.5 ha. , culture period 6 months):- Unit cost Rs.24949.00

iii) Production of advance fingerlings (unit area 0.26 hectare, culture period 3 months) :- Unit cost Rs. 13089.00
iv) Production of fry (unit area 0.13 ha., culture period 25 days, 8 cycles): Unit cost Rs. 29131.00

vi) Integrated pisciculture with ducks in 1 ha. Unit cost Rs. 112404.00
vii) Ornamental Rearing unit (General) unit size: 100 sq. meter (For 4 cycles) Molly: - unit cost Rs. 38316.00

10. Training to Fish farmers
i) Grass Root Level at block level
ii)District Level Training on intensive aquaculture and reservoir fishery management.
iii) State Level Training on fish breeding and culture, hatchery operation and management.

13. Observance of Wet Land or Fish Farmers Day
Importance of wet land for the existence of human civilization is propagated to the people every year on the 16th June since 1987 by observing wet land day. 10th July is observed as Fish Farmers Day. This day is observed in all district of West Bengal where progressive are awarded and farmers meet / workshops etc. are organized.
14. Fish Production Group:
Fish Production Group can be formed by the willing fish farmers on fulfillment the conditions as per annexure attached.

a) Subsidy @ 20% with a maximum ceiling limit of Rs. 36000.00 only per ha. For all farmers.
b) Subsidy @ 20% with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 60000.00 only per ha. For all farmers except SC or ST for whom it is Rs. 75000.00 per ha. (25%) towards construction of new ponds and tanks.
c) Margin should be inclusive of subsidy
d) There is no income bar. Anybody having tanks or ponds may get the facilities of these schemes.
